Thomas Edwin “Tom” Ricks is an American journalist, author, and tv personality who majors in the military and national security issues. He is also a member of the Center for a New American Security, a defense policy think tank.
He was notably a finalist for the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for General Non-Fiction for his book Fiasco: The American Military Adventure in Iraq.
Thomas also lectures to the military and is a member of Harvard University’s Senior Advisory Council on the Project on U.S. Civil-Military Relations.
