Ron Martin is a York native who began his career in broadcast journalism as a desk assistant at NBC News in Washington, DC. He works at WGAL 8 News in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, as a news anchor. Previously, before joining WGAL, Martin worked as a reporter and anchor, at WHP-TV in Harrisburg, PA, for three years.
Martin rose through the ranks to become its main weeknight news anchor in 2000, now anchoring WGAL News 8 at 5, the Emmy award-winning WGAL News 8 at 6, WGAL News 8 at 10 on MeTV Susquehanna Valley, WGAL 8.2, and WGAL News 8 at 11.

In 1985, Ron was named weekend news anchor, and then, 2 years later, Ron was named a weeknight news anchor on WGAL.
Ron received a 2020 Honorary Doctorate for Public Service from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in Lancaster.
