Steven Allan Avery is an American convict and media personality who was wrongly convicted in 1985 of sexual assault and attempted murder. He was later sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Wisconsin photographer Teresa Halbach in November 2005.
His nephew, Brendan Dassey was also convicted in 2007 as an accessory to murder. Avery’s lawyer Kathleen Zellner brought new information to light citing a witness who claims to have seen Bobby Dassey driving Teresa Halbach’s RAV4 following her demise.
